Ronnie Miller is a historian and researcher who earned his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. His academic interests lie in political and social history and he has conducted research and published books on Canadian foreign policy regarding the Middle East. Most recently he has studied an isolated and persecuted Jewish community of the Caucasus and its relationship to Zionism and Palestine following World War I. As an educator and school principal, Miller has provided consultancy services to numerous private schools across Canada on various educational matters. He enjoys facilitating seminars and conferences on educational issues, and has carried out this work across Canada and the North Eastern United States.
Currently, Miller delivers engaging presentations based on his ongoing research projects. His focus is on the work of Nathan Eliashvilli, the formidable leader of the Zionist movement in Georgia after World War I, and the challenging experiences of Georgian immigrants in Palestine during the mid-1920s. The trials of this immigrant group highlight the universality of the immigrant story, and serve as a backdrop and lens for discussion and study of the immigration and refugee crisis of our times.
